The course is given by Uppsala University on a commissioned basis, which means that there are neither special application procedures nor specific eligibility criteria for the individual student. All that is required is that the student has an affiliation with an institute, university, school, organization or company.*
The course is suited both for a single person, and e.g. a company that wants to educate a larger group of their employees. We can host a group of one hundred students and more! (Please inquire for larger groups). Also researchers, teachers and PhD-students are welcome to attend the course.
The course is given in its entirety on the web. All you need is a computer with a web-browser and an Internet connection. You don’t need to travel to Uppsala. You can be located anywhere in the world. There are no fixed hours in the course.
Courses can start on a flexible bases at any time of the year, and are run all through the year, except during holiday times. (Course free periods are 15 December – 15 January, and 15 June – 31 August).
Courses are normally given at ‘half’ speed over a period of 10 weeks, but we can adjust the rate according to your needs; e.g. running it over 20 weeks at a ‘quarter’ speed, e.g. in case you wish to perform the course on the side of a regular work or other studies.
A certificate from Uppsala University for the completion of the course, including the ECTS obtained (7.5 ECTS), is issued for each individual student, after the successful completion of the course.

*In case you are a student with an EU/EAA citizenship we recommend the individual student course on Pharmaceutical Bioinformatics of Uppsala University, as it will be free of charge for you. However, you should be aware that the individual student course requires a quite complicated admission procedure and strict eligibility criteria. In case you are not able to meet these requirements we strongly recommend that you go for the commissioned course announced here . Moreover, please observe that the commissioned course is not available for individual students, as Swedish university regulations do not allow commissioned courses given directly to a student lacking the affiliation with a institute, university, school, organization or company. In this case we also refer you to the individual student course. For information and application to the individual student course, please click here.
